The Sahra Bulle Campaign: Turning Loss Into Lasting Change
The Sahra Bulle Campaign is more than an annual awareness initiative — it is a movement born out of profound personal loss, a call to action that refuses to fade into silence.
Sahra Bulle was a bright, determined young woman whose life was tragically cut short by gender-based violence. Her story is not an isolated one. Around the world, far too many women and girls continue to face violence simply because of their gender. Their voices are silenced, their dreams stolen, and their families left to navigate grief in the shadows.
But we refuse to let silence win.
Through the Sahra Bulle Foundation, this campaign honors Sahra’s memory by turning grief into fuel for advocacy, education, and community action. Each year, we bring together survivors, families, advocates, and allies to recommit to ending gender-based violence in all its forms.
This year’s campaign is part of the global Beijing+30 recommitment — marking 30 years since the Beijing Platform for Action, a landmark global blueprint for gender equality. The work remains unfinished, and we are stepping forward to say: If not now, then when? If not you, then who?
What the Campaign Includes
Purple Ribbon Awareness Installations: A city-wide display of purple ribbons carrying messages of hope, education, and action.
The Walk to End Silence (October 4, 2025): A collective march to honor victims, uplift survivors, and demand systemic change.
The #IamSahraBulle Conference (November 26, 2025): A full-day event bringing together community leaders, survivors, and advocates to share knowledge, build networks, and plan action.
Community Education & Toolkits: Free resources for frontline workers, educators, and community members to recognize signs of abuse and respond with empathy and action.
This campaign is not just about remembrance. It’s about building the future that Sahra deserved — one where women and girls live free from violence, where communities respond with compassion, and where justice is not delayed.
We invite you to be part of this work. Whether you walk with us, host a ribbon installation, share the toolkit, or donate to support the cause, your voice adds power to our collective stand.
