Stories Behind the Ribbon

Stories Behind the Ribbon

Why One Symbol Holds Thousands of Voices

Behind every purple ribbon tied to a fence, window, or storefront, there’s a story.

Some ribbons honour lives lost too soon—taken by the silence that allowed violence to fester. Others represent survival, resilience, or the courage it takes to leave when staying feels safer. Many carry the unheard voices of those still living in fear, in silence, in places where their pain is unseen.

Each ribbon, no matter how quietly it hangs, is a bold declaration:
I see. I care. I act.

💜 More Than a Symbol

The purple ribbon is not just something you wear or display.
It’s not decoration. It’s not passive.

It’s a collective memory and a public promise. It says we will not look away. That justice, dignity, and community accountability matter. That we believe people deserve to live without fear—in their homes, their workplaces, their schools, and their communities.

✨ A Story That Sparked a Movement

This campaign is personal.

It was born from the story of Sahra Bulle—a young woman whose life was taken by gender-based violence. Her story, like too many others, was nearly silenced. But her family refused to let that be the end. The Sahra Bulle Foundation now carries her name forward, not just in remembrance, but in resistance.

It’s powered by stories like hers—stories that were once buried in grief, now shining with purpose.

And it’s built for survivors who are still finding their voice.
For those who can’t yet speak.
For those who never got the chance.

📣 When You Display a Ribbon…

You’re not just raising awareness.
You’re raising your voice.

You’re standing alongside thousands of others.
You’re reminding someone that they’re not alone.
You’re showing your home, school, or business is a place where silence is not protection—and violence is not invisible.

And sometimes, that quiet ribbon is louder than a thousand words.
